"Only 20"

I know you probably think that I'm this 20 year old young, immature girl who doesn't know what she wants out of life and blah blah blah. Well, I HOPE you don't think those things, but if you do let me clarify some things up. I met my boyfriend in Nov '08. At that time I really was not looking for anything serious, but I also was open to whatever. We had our first date at P.F. Changs and for some reason I was thinkin' he had no interest in me. So, I just kind of put it off and was like oh well, there are other guys in the sea. When he asked me to hang out that next weekend, I was like, "Oh! Maybe he actually does have some interest!" So we started hanging out a lot and in Dec '08 I started to develop a crush on him! But, of course I did not think things would turn out like they have! So, my feelings started growing stronger and come to find out so did his. I really really liked him and I decided that I wanted to be in a commited relationship with this guy! So, I was more ready than he was. I kept asking almost once a week 'bout when he was ready and he just kept saying "Well, I'm just not ready yet".. Mainly because he was scared to get hurt. So I waited for him. FINALLY, we became official Feb '09 and it was the best day of my life thus far. The next best day was a month later when we told each other we loved each other.

Anyway, I knew from the day we said we loved each other that he was 'the one'. You are probably thinking about this 20 year old girl thinks this guy she's been dating for a year is 'the one'. I just know. You can't really explain how you know, you just do. He is everything I look for. His parents really raised him right, and I'm SO blessed. I also know he is going to be a great father one day by the way I see him with his niece.

I guess I just had to get that stuff off my chest. Some people think that at 20 years old you should be out partying and dating as many guys as possible. Not me. Nope. I'm just not 'that girl'. Some may say, but you're "only 20". Who says you can't be in love and know that the guy you're with is 'the one' at 20 years old? There is no age limit on anything. No one specifically says you have to graduate college at 22, get married at 26 and have children at 30. Society makes that out to be, but it's not true. I'm ready to get married next year if Tony proposed this year. I know that he is not proposing this year, because he's gotta save up first. ;-) But, what I'm basically trying to say is that when you're ready, you're ready. Although, ever since I was a little girl, I always wanted to be married at 23, I can wait if I had to. Because I know that I will be Tony for the rest of my life, it's just a matter of when we make it legal. It's all in God's hands. It's all on His time.

So, what I'm trying to say is I'm not your average 20 year old. I don't want to go out partying every night, and wake up the next morning with a hangover. I don't wanna date one guy for 6 months, then move onto another. That's not me. I found the man for me.

I'm not sure where this post came from.. Haha! It's just a lot of people are getting married that are 20-22 and I say go for it! If you're ready, then walk down that aisle! More power to ya! :-)

I'm totally with you on this one! My husband and I have been married for 8 months. We were both 21 when we got engaged and 23 when we got married. We started dating when we were both 18 (college freshmen) and I knew early on that he was "the one." We had even discussed the whole marriage thing by the end of our first year of dating and knew we were on the same page. I, too have never been someone who wants to go out partying every night and meet tons of random guys. I'm perfectly happy with the choice I made and don't feel like I missed out on the college experience one bit by being in a serious relationship the whole time.

I'm glad you've found someone early on that makes you happy too! :)

Thank you!! Yeah, I really do love this guy. I would marry him this year if I got the chance!! :) But, first, he has to propose! :-) But anyways, age doesn't matter! And if someone is happy, that's all that matters!!
