It's been a while..

since I've been on a vacation and I'm SO excited I get to go on one this weekend!

I went to the doctor yesterday for my heartburn, he gave me heartburn medication so hopefully it will help.

I had to take my beautiful VW Jetta into the shop yesterday morning because it's acting up. :/

It's most likely a transmission problem, and we all know how much it costs to get a new transmission. Like up to $3,000. Yeah, I'm not happy.

So I've been borrowing Tony's car and my mom's car to get around.

Luckily Tony lives 5 minutes away, so he's been picking me up too.

I probably won't get Black Betty back until next week.

Yeah, I named it Black Betty.

Once I bought it, it just came to me because it's black.

And I bought Betty Boop mats too :)

But one day I accidentally called her Black BeTSY and now that's kind of her name.

ANYWAY.

Today is going to be a relaxing day.

I think I'll lay out by my pool!

Tonight Tony is gonna pick me up and we're gonna go to Sweet Tomatoes for dinner since I won't be seeing much of him for the next week. :(

I really wish he could come with us on this trip, but of course he has his classes and work. Bleh.

I will miss him terribly.

It's been TOO long! Random Ramblings

Wow! It's almost been a week since I last blogged!

A lot has been going on!

On Sunday I took my last final. It was pretty hard, not gonna lie.

I made a B in History though!

Now just waiting on Business.

I'm SO glad classes are over.

No more classes until mid August!

This past week has been pretty fun!

Went bowling with friends, and went to Stone Mountain too.

Today I'm going to head over to Tony's and we're gonna go to the store and get all the ingredients to make a cream cheese pound cake!

Ever since I got the Southern Living cookbook for my birthday, I've been looking through it trying to find something to make, and when I came across the cream cheese pound cake I knew I had to bake it!

So, I'm going to bake that today for Tony. :)

Then we're going to do a little swimsuit shopping. I'm in desperate need of a new suit!

Then, tonight we are going to go to this new place that opened up last week called Studio Movie Grill. It's a movie theater but they give you a menu and serve you dinner as you watch the movie!

It looks pretty neat, so we're gonna try it out.

Next Friday I leave for my family vacation!

I'm super stoked.

My uncle and two cousins come in to ATL Wednesday night from Colorado.

My stepmom, stepbrother, and stepsister come in Thursday night from Kansas City.

My other uncle and aunt and two cousins come in either Wed or Thurs night.

And I think my grandparents are going to be coming Thurs night also.

So everyone is meeting here in ATL and then we are all driving to NC Friday morning.

I can't wait!

I just wish Tony could come. :/

He has work, plus he's SWAMPED with MBA classes.

By the way, speaking of my stepmom, this past week she had a few kidney stones and had to go to the hospital and she couldn't pass them and had to have surgery to get them removed.

She was released from the hospital Thursday night, and she is doing a LOT better. :)

Hmm.. what else?

Last night I was up from 3AM to 5:30AM with really really bad heartburn.

I've been getting heartburn for almost a year now, and it's gotten worse.

The past couple times I've gotten it, I've thrown up.

So next week I'm definitely going to make a doctor appointment to see what that's about.

Tony's sister, brother-in-law, and niece come to ATL July 6th!

Ahh I just LOVE his family!

If we get married, I couldn't imagine a more loving family to marry into.

So, you're probably wondering why my dad lives here, and his wife lives in Kansas City? No? Well I'm gonna tell you why anyway. :)

My dad married my stepmom 11 years ago. He then moved up there to be with her. He lived there for a good 6 years.

When I was in high school, I wasn't doing too good, and I really wanted my dad to live here.

Well, my dad decided he was going to move back down here for a year to help me out with school and try to graduate.

His plan was to only live here a year, once I graduated high school, and to move back to Kansas City after.

Well as he was living here in a small apartment, he got a new job offer here in ATL.

He decided to take the job, which meant he wouldn't be able to move back to Kansas City to be with his wife.

Now, the reason she hasn't moved down here is because of her children.

My stepsister is going to be a senior in high school, and so my stepmom decided that she was going to wait until my stepsis graduated high school to move down here.

In the meantime, my dad goes up there once, maybe twice a month, for a week or so to visit her.

Once in a while, she comes down here too.

But now that my sis is going to be graduating high school next May, my stepmom will be moving down here next summer.

Along with my stepbrother.

I'm sure my stepsister will go to college up there in Kansas.

Anyways..

Now I'm off to go get ready to see my wonderful man. :)

I'm SO lucky!

I'm so lucky to have the BEST dad in the world!

I love him so much, and we have had SO many memories together, and there is going to be a TON more.

He showed me what unconditional love is and I thank him for being such a great guy.

Today is also his 52nd birthday!!

It's kinda cool because his brithday falls on Father's Day sometimes, and mine falls on Mother's Day sometimes. :)

I have so many pictures of me and my dad, but just not on my comptuer. I guess I need to learn how to scan them onto the comp!

Love and life.

I just want to say that I have the greatest boyfriend alive.

He seriously is such an awesome man.

He's so loving, funny, smart, EVERYTHING.

We've been together for a year and 4 months and I still get SO excited when I get to see him, and when I'm not with him I'm wishing I was.

I know that if we do get married one day, that he will make the most amazing husband.

Speaking of marriage.

Ever since I was little, I always had a plan.

I'm a planner.

It kills me when someone doesn't plan something.

So, anyway, ever since I was a little girl, I always wanted to be engaged at 22, married at 23, and have my first baby at 25.

Although that would be my dream plan for myself, it probably won't end up that way.

Which is OKAY.

I will most likely graduate in 3 years with, hopefully, a nursing degree.

Then I would like to work for at LEAST one year before having a child.

So, who knows.

Who knows when I will get married.

Who knows when I will start my career as a nurse.

And who knows when I will have a baby.

It's all on His timing.

Whatever happens, it will be beautiful.

There's no rule that says I have to be engaged next year and be married in 2 years.

There's no rule that says I must graduate college when I'm 22.

And there's definitely no rule that says I have to have a baby when I'm 25.

Yeah, maybe I'd like for those things to happen at those times, but they may not.

And I've come to be okay with that. :)

Changes.

I'm changing my major, again.

First, it was Criminal Justice. I wanted to be a CSI.

Then, it was Early Childhood Eduaction. I wanted to be an Elementary School Teacher.

Now, it's going to be Nursing. Yep. That's right! :)

And I'm SO excited.

I want to be a Labor and Delivery Nurse eventually.

But who knows, I may find another specialty in Nursing that I like more.

We will see.

I'm excited though.

I will transfer to a 4 year college in Jan' 2011 and then after I take a few more core classes, I will be applying to Nursing school and hopefully get in!

I've been told time and time again that it's really hard, and that a lof of my time is going to be devoted to studying.

But I don't care.

This is what I want to do.

Hey, they didn't say it'd be easy, just worth it. :)

Tony's mom was a nurse for 10 years, and so was my aunt.

So I have a couple people I can go to, to talk about it.

I'm sure there are TONS of specialties on Nursing, but for now I'm set on Labor and Delivery.

I'm ready.

Life..

Life is so amazing. I am so blessed!

This is my last week of summer classes and then I'm done for 2 months!!

Praise the Lord!

My family vacation is 2 weeks from Thursday! :)

Tony is amazing and so smart. He started his MBA last Monday.

He's such a hard-working guy. He has a full time job AND getting his MBA at the same time!

He will graduate next August!

It's going to be a long year, to say the least.

Yesterday I met with Mary for lunch at Chili's! It's one of our favorite restaurants!

She's like "mmm water". HAHA!

Us. :)

After lunch, Mary had to skadaddle 'cause she had a dentist appointment.

So, I went home and worked out and then we made more plans for later that night!

Some friends and I decided to hang out.

Me, Mary, Luz, AJ, and Ella.

We all met up at Chipotle hung out there for a while - laughing, chatting, and playing card games!

Then, since they were getting ready to close, we had to migrate outside.

The picture quality kinda sucks, but we thought it was interesting that all of our cars were next to each other since there were other cars around too. My car is the black VW Jetta, 2nd from the right. :)

So, we decided on what to do next - bowling!

It's been about a year and a half since I've gone bowling, so I thought it was a great idea!

We all piled in Ella's car, and headed to the bowling alley!

Last night was 99 cent per game night

There are a ton more pictures, but there are all on Mary's camera, so once she posts them then I can post them on here :)

We spent a couple hrs at the bowling alley, and decided to go to McDonalds to chill and play card games. :)

It was a really fun night!

Mary even met a guy at the bowling alley.

Of course, me and our friends had to push her to go talk to him. :)

Then, as we were walking out, this random guy comes up to me and says, "May I have a minute of your time? My name is blah-blah and I just wanted to say you're gorgeous".

I was like uhh, thanks!

Haha.

Awkward.

It was sweet though.

I didn't get home until 1:45AM and I was BEAT.

Getting to know YOU Sunday and random ramblings

This weekend was great.

I always have great weekends, especially when it's spent with Tony.

We spent the weekend:

-renting "The Men Who Stare at Goats"

- Eating a huge sub sandwich from Walmart

- Pet browsing

- Eating Subway

- Eating sushi

- Laying by the pool at night

Today I spent my day taking a 2 hr test, then relaxing by my pool. :)

This week is my last week of school.

Man, time flies!

Then 2 weeks from Thursday my step-mom, step-bro, and step-sis are driving down here from Kansas.

Then we all leave Friday morning, July 2, for NC!

I'm so crazy stoked.

May! It's not "officially" summer, but it's when school gets out and the beginning of summer break, and it has summer-like weather. :)

Ocean! Minus the salt water. I just can't take it when it gets in my eyes!

6. One of my favorite Summer memories is.....?

My dad lived in Kansas for about 5 years and so my brother and I would fly up there every summer for about 3 weeks and I would just have so much fun with my step-siblings! We'd go to the pool, movies, mall, play with friends - it was so much fun!

Not sure I have one?

8. Do you plan on or have you been watching the World Cup?

Nope.

1. What does your car say about you? If you don’t have a car, what kind of car would be your daily driver?

I drive a 2002 Volkswagon Jetta. I'm not sure what that says about me? Haha.

To make people happy and to love and be loved. :)

3. If you could trade places with any person for any amount of time, who would it be?

Anyone who won a lottery! Haha.

4. What is your favorite kind of cake? If you don’t like cake, what is it about it that you don’t like?

Uh,  if you know me then you know that I like basically ANY dessert. So obviously I love cake! This is a hard question because I basically like all cake. But if I had to choose, either German Chocolate Cake or just plain 'ol chocolate cake with cream cheese icing!

5. Would you have wanted to live in your parents’, grandparents’ or great-grandparents’ generation or only your own?

Just mine.

6. Do you have any home remedies for illnesses, cleaning or otherwise?

Dang, I can't think of anything. :(

7. What is your ideal weather situation?

Somewhere between 70-75 degrees and a 'lil breeze.

8. What is your best attribute (physical or personal)?

I've been told that I have a pretty smile, and I think I do too. Also, I've been told I have great boobs and butt. Haha! I think my best personal attribute is my sense of humor. I have a unique sense of humor and I've also been told I'm funny.

9. Do you text or surf while driving?

I've gotten a lot better about texting while driving, I used to text soo much while I drove. Now I MOSTLY just text at red lights, but there are a few times where I still text. I know I know, I NEED to stop!!

10. How long have you known your best friend?

Tony is my bestest friend, so, a year and 7 months. :)

Getting to know YOU Sunday & Last Night

Happy Sunday, y'all! I hope you guys had/are having a great weekend!

Last night Tony and I went to dinner at Dreamland BBQ with our friends Meredith and Matt.

All of us got the pork and I got mac and cheese and baked beans for my two sides! Mmm! And of course, a diet coke!

It was pretty delicious, but not as good as Williamson Bros., my and Tony's fav bbq place!

So we decided we all wanted to do something after we ate, so we decided to go to a local bar and play some pool and have some drinks!

We ended up going across the street to Mazzy's Sports Bar and Grill.

We ended up playing a few games of pool, I drank a Malibu and Pineapple drink and Meredith got the same thing.

A little later she decided to try out the Bubblegum Vodka.

It tasted EXACTLY like original bubblegum!

Both Meredith and I decided it's not something we would want to drink.

She finished it though because she did not want to waste it.

It was a very good night, overall. :)

Fun times with good friends.

Baking. If I had the money, I would go to the Art Institue of Atlanta and I would become a Pastry Chef.

Non-alcoholic, Diet coke. Alcoholic, Malibu Rum and Pineapple Juice! A.K.A, Caribou Lou "The Ultimate Party Flavor".




5. What is your favorite type of music?
Country! By far.

6. Something I do before I go to bed is......?
I do a lot of things before I go to bed. Hah. But what I do RIGHT before I go to bed is put on chapstick.



7. My Summer vacation plans are...?
On July 2nd I'm going to Nantahala, NC for a family reunion with my dad's side of the family. I'm stoked for that! Then Tony and I are either going to Myrtle Beach, SC or somewhere in FL. :)



8. My favorite must have, can't live without, beauty product is?
Mascara. It would be really hard to live without foundation, but if I have nothing but mascara, then I will be happy. If I have everything BUT mascara, then there will be problems. :)

Mary is the SWEETEST girl I've ever met. She's so loyal and kind and such a great friend! Everytime we're together we never stop laughing!

I Heart Family.

A month from yesterday I will be in a car headed to Nantahala, NC with my step-sister, step-brother, brother, step-mom, and dad!

I think it is about a 3 or 4 hour drive. Shouldn't be too bad! (I've driven 12-13 hrs with my dad and brother to Kansas probably 15 times)

We rented a really nice cabin and will be staying there.

My whole dad's side of the family will  be meeting us up there.

My grandparents.

My dad's 3 brothers and their wifes and their kids.

I think there is going to be about 20 people.

Me, my step-sis, step-bro, brother, step-mom, and dad will all be staying in our own cabin, and some of the other family will be getting a cabin, grandparents will be getting a hotel.

It should be really fun!

Usually, we go to Fort Myers, FL every year and stay in a timeshare almost every summer.

This year we decided to change it up a 'lil and head to the mountains.

We're gonna go horseback riding, whitewater rafting, and many other fun things. :)
