Ouch!

So, last night Tony and I were grilling some hotdogs and I was going down the apartment stairs pretty fast and my hand was sliding along the handrail and I felt this reallly strong sting and I was just like "oowwww" and Tony came and was asking what was wrong and I just said that it was stinging REALLY bad.

He kept asking if I hit something sharp on the handrail, and I just replied back that it definitely was a sting!

So we are thinking that there was possibly a wasp on the handrail and it was mad and just stung me.

Hah.

I can't think of anything else it could of been!

So, of course my hand got really red and swelled up a little bit and you could see the stop where I got stung.

That was at about 8PM.

Now it's definitely feeling better, but still hurts.

Ugh!
Running it under cold water makes it hurt worse.

So, I guess I will just let it heal on its own, unless y'all have any suggestions on what to put on a bee or wasp sting?

Also, last night was the premiere of Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta.

And since I live in Atlanta, and I LOVE this show, Tony and I watched it!

Haha!

I'm so lucky to have a guy that puts up with my shows.

Gosh I love looking at wedding dresses.

I don't know what is it, I just love 'em.

Can I have this please?

K thnx.

Even though I'm not even engaged, I wish I could go on Say Yes to the Dress!

That'd be soo awesome!

Guess Tony needs to give me a reason to go on the show! ;)

30 Day Song Challenge - Day 7

For day 7 on the 30 Day Song Challenge, I have to post a song that reminds me of a certain event.

This song reminds me of when I was at Music Midtown a few years back. Music Midtown was America's largest three-day music festival, right here in Georgia! There were over 100 acts from all genres of music in downtown and Midtown Atlanta in over 40 acres! It was SO much fun! Jessica Simpson was just one of the acts and I went with my good friend, Hilairy, and she was the one act that stood out the most, and for some reason, I can only remember her singing this song, although I know she sang a lot more than just this.

Jessica Simpson - "Take My Breath Away"

Gosh, I have SO many memories from Music Midtown! My friend Hilairy and I made so many memories there.

Here is a pic from the last Music Midtown I attended. I think it was 2003 or 2004. Those guys were random guys who just asked if they could be in our picture. Weird.

I'm in the back with the random/creepy guy leaning over my shoulder and my friend Hilairy is kneeling on the bottom with the other random guy.

"La la la la"

Yay! Today is FRIDAY! Oh how I love Fridays!

Tonight Tony and I are going to have a relaxing evening grilling out and watching a movie. :)

Today is also Day 6 of the 30 Day Song Challenge!

This is so fun!

So, for day 6, I'm supoosed to post a song that reminds me of somewhere!

Easy.

This song reminds me of Fort Myers Beach, Florida.

About every other summer, my family and I go down there and stay in the same timeshare we always stay in. Some of my favortie memories have been made there and I'm SO excited that we might be going next summer since this summer we didn't go!

I CANNOT wait.

This is the house we stay in everytime we go.

And here's the song the reminds me of this place :)

30 Day Song Challenge and I love Wednesdays!

I don't know what it is, but there's just something about Wednesdays that I love!

I think it's 'cause it's "hump day" and halfway through the week!

They are refreshing to me!

Today is also Day 4 of the 30 Day Song Challenge!

And I'm posting a song that makes me sad.

Hm..there aren't really that many songs that make me sad, but there are a few, and this one was the first one to come to mind:

"Address in the Stars" by Caitlin & Will

It's about this girl/guy who had a love one pass away and she/he just wants to be able to talk to him/her and they can't and just wishes they could send a letter to them just to be able to talk to them again.

Everytime I hear this song I automatically think of my brother's best friend who died a year and a half ago.

He was SUCH a sweet, generous, caring, funny guy and I will never forget the day my mom came in my room and told me he died. Not only was he my brother's best friend, but he was a friend of mine too.

I tear up everytime I hear this song and I automatically think of my friend who died.

Have a great Hump Day!
Tonight I'm going to Tony's roommates graduation from college.

Ten on Tuesday!

1. How do you take your coffee on an average day? How do you like your coffee if you’re splurging?
Honestly, I don't drink coffee. The only coffee I will drink is the coffee in Frappuccinos and Cappuccinos because you really can't taste it that much because it's taken over by sugar, haha!

2. What is your genre of books to read?

I don't really read for fun that much, or as much as I would want to! Especially during the school year. I'd love to be able to read more, I'd like chick lit!

3. Where do you want to retire, if you could go anywhere?

The beach or the mountains. If I retired to the beach, I might get really sick of the heat. So maybe the moutains and then go to the beach all the time for vacation!

4. The 17-year-old you is told to write a 10-minute speech. What topic would you have picked?

Most likely boys or shopping. Ha!

5. What word describes you best?

Goofy.

6. What is the next “event” that you are looking forward to? (ex.: vacation, moving, date, job change, etc)

School starting back up. Yeah, you probably think I'm crazy for wanting to go back to school, but it gives me something to do and I like seeing my friends everyday! The next thing would be Tony and my 1 1/2 year anniversary on Aug 14th, then of course going to Myrtle Beach for labor day weekend!

7. Do you like to discuss controversial topics or do you prefer to avoid those types of conversations?

I try to avoid them.

8. Would you rather add 4 free hours to each day, or add 1 extra day to the week?

Probably 1 extra day to the week.

9. If you created a sports team; what would your colors and mascot be?

Probably blue and green and I'd like 'em the Dragons. Hahah!

10. If you had to be a teacher, what subject would you teach?

English. By far. All other subjects suck.

30 Day Song Challenge - Day 3

Today is Day 3 of the 30 Day Song Challenge!

And I'm supposed to post a song that makes me happy.

There are TONS of songs that make me happy!

But since it's summertime, everytime I hear this song I get so happy and it makes me love summer that much more!

I cannot believe that July is almost over!

Where has the summer gone?!?

It has been such a great summer, though, but I wish it'd slow down!

There's only 3 weeks left then school starts back up!

Although I'm excited for school to start, I'm not so much excited for summer to end!

Tony has been SUPER busy this summer, though.

He's been taking his online MBA classes and he has to do homework/studying every day!

Weekends.

Every weekend spent with Tony is a GREAT weekend! :)

I love this man.

We're coming up on a year and a half next month and I can't believe how fast time is going by!

I met him in November 2008 and I feel like it was just yesterday!

And I feel like it was just yesterday that he asked me to be his gf. :)

Time flies when you're having fun! ;)

This song basically sums up everyday I spend with Tony. :)

A month from Saturday...

I will be returning to school.

August 17th.

Why am I excited?

Well, a little excited.

I guess 'cause I'm bored.

But I know that once school does start back up, that I will be wishing summer break was back!

Plus, I'm excited to get finished and out of school forever and become a Nurse.

Basically, I'm rambling.

And I need to live with the fact that not everything is going to go as planned.

Plus, it's not really my plan. It's His.

It's crazy to think about what the next few years will be like!

Will I be married? Will I be an RN? Will I have a baby? Will I still be living here in Georgia?

I get excited and nervous thinking about the future, but I try not to think about it too much because I want to live in the moment.

Anyway..

No need to think about a month from now..

I will just worry about today.

Nantahala, NC

Let me start off by saying that Nantahala, NC is BEAUTIFUL!

ALL of the family met at my dad's house at 11AM on Friday morning. We then were on our way! We stopped about halfway (the trip is only 3 hrs) at a McDonalds because my cousins (they are 7 and 5) were hungry.

We finally arrived in Nantahala around 2:30 and checked in and got settled into our BEAUITFUL cabin! After of about an hour of getting settled in, we all ventured out to Ingles, the only grocery store that was close! And it was 15 minutes away!

The view driving into Nantahala

My bed on the right and my step-sister's bed on the left.

Looking out from my and Sarah's bedroom.

The view from our balcony!

Our back porch! There was tons of games! Darts, foosball, and a pinball machine inside!

From left to right: My brother, me, step-sis (Sarah0, step-bro (Tayler). And my brother is leaning on the hot tub!

Pinball machine that was played 24/7 by all of us!

Our gravel driveway!

So when we got settled in, we got ready and headed over to my Uncle's cabin for Mexican food! He made tacos and had chips and salsa! His cabin was about half a mile away from ours!

Me and Sarah on the way over there.

Me and my brother on the way over.

The view from my uncle's cabin!

Two of my cousins, Alicia and Tony.

My brother and my cousin, Bianca. Can you beleive she's only 13?!?

My adorable cousin, Alex.

My nana and uncle salsa dancing :)

From left to right: Sarah, me, my nana, Bianca, Alicia.

The next morning we woke up and got ready because we were going White Water Rafting! So the whole enitre family met up around 12:30 and we rafted and had tons of fun! We got our pictures taken but my stepmom has those! It was tons of fun!

After that, we got back to the cabin, and got ready for dinner over at my aunt and uncle's cabin!

They made bbq chicken and beans and rice!

Here's some pics from that night!

We celebrated my papa's 75th bday, too!

My cousin, Chase, and his blue mouth from the icing of the cake!

On Sunday morning we headed back to Ingles to get more food since we were running out quick! After that, we returned to the cabin to get ready to go HORSEBACK RIDING! My favorite part of the whole trip!

My cousin, Alicia. She's 16! She looks more like 19!

Where the horses were kept.

My beautiful 20 year old horse, Raven. I got the oldest horse, but she sure had personality!

The family.

There were two guides, one in the front and one in the back, and I was the last horse before the guide in the back so he just kept talking and talking and had a really strong southern accent and was about 50 years old. He kept telling me all these stories, he was definitely an interesting dude.

My horse, Raven, was so cute and well behaved. She would trot every once in a while and I loved it! I wanted her to keep trotting! Everytime the guide behind me called out of the horses names, it would start trotting and it was so hilarious!

Sunday night it was our turn to make dinner! We had hamburgers and hotdogs along with baked beans, coleslaw, and potato salad!

We had sparklers too for the 4th!

Monday was our last full day there, so we wanted to make the best of it!

The whole family decided to go hiking up this beautiful mountain! Oh, and I also carried my 40 lb 5 year old cousin halfway up! He was complaining of how he was tired, so I offered to give him a piggy back ride and plus it was a great workout!

My uncle and my cousin. I'm so jealous of him because he's 37 and looks like he's 27!

After the hike, we all went back to our cabins. Sarah and I took a 45 minute nap because we were exhausted!

We then woke up and started getting ready for dinner. Everyone came to our cabin for dinner this night, but my uncle and papa brought the food!

They stopped by Bojangles and picked up fried chicken, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, and biscuits! It was soo good!

Here is a video of my dad and nana salsa dancing! Well, my dad is TRYING to salsa dance! Haha!

Baking browines for dessert! Mmm! Licking the bowl after is the best part! ;)

Our cabin from the front!

Tuesday we left around 10:30 and got brunch before heading out!

It was bittersweet that's for sure.

This trip was SO much fun and I wish I could go back every weekend!

Nantahala is GORGEOUS and I'd go back in a heartbeat!

Family trips are by far my favorite kind of trips!

I missed Tony a lot though!

But next time I go there, I want it to just be me and Tony. It's so beautiful.

I was so glad to have all of my family together! The last time the whole family was together was Dec '05 for my grandparent's 50th anniversary, and that was the best trip I've ever been on.

This is my 2nd favortie trip.

If y'all get a chance to go to NC, please stop by Nantahala!

P.S. Here's a video of my cute cousin, Chase, singing.

Saturday, July 10, 2010

Oh Wow.

It's been too long!

I've been SUPER busy!

I got back from my NC trip on Tuesday afternoon and I've just been SO busy with family since!

My family goes back to Kansas tomorrow morning.

I'm very sad. :(

Tony's family will be leaving Sunday afternoon.

So tomorrow Tony and I are going to visit with them and his ADORABLE almost 17 month old niece!

I will try to take pictures!!

Tony and his brother-in-law, Ryan, are going to see a movie tomorow afternoon while his sister, mom, and me get dinner ready :)

It will be a good bonding time for me and his mom and sis!

I promise I will update you next week about my NC trip that ws SUPER fun!

Also, I got accepted to Kennesaw State University!!

It's a university here in GA, and I've wanted to go there ever since I could remember.

It's 45 minutes away from where I live now, so no biggie.

I start in January of next year.

I'm SO stoked!

I applied at my brother's job last week, (he works at a carwash) because I need a job BAD and they just fired 2 people, plus I'm his sister, and they love him, so I'm sure I'll get at least an interview!

The job I would be doing is just cashier.

I'd be sitting in a really nice air conditioned room, taking people's money, watching t.v., getting online, haha!

Shouldn't be TOO hard. ;)

We'll see though!

I really need a job.

So please pray that I get a call back!

Off to bed..

SO tired.

"Tomorrow, Tomorrow, I love you, Tomorrow.."

..You're only a day away!

Can't wait for the trip tomorrow!

My uncle and two cousins, Tony (who is 17) and Bianca (who is 13), came in last night around 6:30 from Oklahoma!

I hung out with them and my dad and brother until about 10PM just chatting and catching up!

So I won't be blogging probably until next Wednesday!

I hope ya'll have a GREAT weekend and 4th of July and I will be back next week!!
